Competitive Immunoassays
We are experts in the development of super-fast and/or super-sensitive ELISA's and multiplexed assays.

Sandwich Immunoassays
Selection of solid phase antibodies based upon performance criteria developed from your assay specifications. The readout can be HRP or AP colorimetric detection to fluorescent, chemiluminescent or bioluminescent ELISA's.

Activity Assays
Activity assays utilize either a chemical change to determine the presence or amount of a particular molecule, or monitor the enzyme activity of an enzyme utilizing some novel read out. We will research various options available and design, synthesize and validate new activity methods.

DNA and Tissue Storage Repository Core
This current core provides support for all types of molecular biology projects. It has both expertise and state-of-the-art equipment to assist trainees with molecular biology studies. This core is composed of two modules:

The DNA Analysis Laboratory Module is a state of the art laboratory for the analysis of DNA using high-throughput PCR-based sequence-tagged site screening and genotyping, detection of mutations in known genes by Single Strand Conformational Polymorphism and Base Excision Sequence Scanning, DNA sequencing of PCR fragments to characterize mutations and fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) chromosome mapping to detect chromosomal abnormalities.

The Metabolic Module tackles the change in cellular metabolism as an emerging issue that needs to be considered for many clinical conditions. Trace-based metabolic studies will be carried out a mass spectroscopic facility, LA BioMed. Harbor-UCLA medical center under the direct supervision of Dr. Lee, Professor, Pediatrics, Director of Mass Spectrophotometry laboratories. The primary objective of these projects is to integrate changes in cellular metabolism with molecular changes in cell growth and apoptosis, regeneration, and other cell cycle.
