Research Resource Spotlight on: Vivarium

Department Summary:

The Vivarium is a 10,600 square foot facility dedicated to animal research. The humane use of animals in research is of paramount importance for the understanding of basic and clinical sciences and in developing treatment modalities for human and animal diseases. The Vivarium is CDU’s institutional-wide, integrated program for the care and use of laboratory animals. We accept responsibility for the care and use of animals involved in research activities and implement institutional and statutory guidelines to ensure compliance with all requirements during the pursuit of research in the Vivarium. The facility is equipped to accommodate mice and rats including transgenic and immune-suppressed mice.
