Study design, biostatistics and epidemiology services/project and data management services: The Research Design and Biostatistics Function serves as an interdisciplinary resource for clinical and translational research throughout the CDU. Our faculty have expertise across a wide range of statistical methods and research designs, and have extensive experience working with basic, biomedical and clinical investigators in various disciplines. Services include support for the development and implementation of studies of all sizes from small pilot studies to large-scale, multicenter clinical trials, collaborative basic, clinical and patient-oriented research, multi-institutional health services research projects, and community research. Long-term collaborations with our faculty are encouraged.
Biostatistical and epidemiological services: The function provides biostatistical and epidemiological consulting services to the Charles Drew University of Medicine and science research community and the RTRN participating institutions. The function is staffed by professionally trained epidemiologist, biostatisticians, biostatistical programmers, data managers, and data entry staff.
All initial consultations (2 hours) are provided at no charge to researchers.
Our function provides professional, high quality data analysis, biostatistical programming, and data management services for research in health outcomes, clinical trials, large prescription and diagnostic databases, community surveys, national databases, and observational epidemiological studies.
Grant proposal and study design services: We provide biostatistical and epidemiological study design on matters related to grant proposal development.
Outcomes Measurement Methods services: We provide technical support to aid investigators in finding or developing appropriate measurement tools for the outcomes of patient-oriented clinical research and test its psychometric analysis.
