Center for Biomedical Informatics Team Successful in Submissions to Premier National Biomedical Informatics Scientific Conference

Researchers in the Charles Drew University (CDU) Center for Biomedical Informatics (CBI) recently were successful in gaining acceptance for presentation of a number of submissions to the leading national scientific conference for Biomedical Informatics, reflecting the pioneering work in the field being conducted in AXIS. The AMIA Annual Symposium is the principal scientific meeting in the USA for those scientists and practitioners who work in all areas of this important discipline and is the main conference sponsored by the American Medical Informatics Association. It will be held November 16 - 20, 2013 in Washington, DC.

CBI co-directors Omolola Ogunyemi, PhD, associate professor in the CDU Life Sciences Institute and Robert A Jenders, MD, MS, CDU & UCLA professor of medicine, joined by Sheba George, PhD, assistant professor, Sukrit Mukherjee, MS, MSE, instructor and Romulo de Castro, Jr, PhD, staff member, respectively, in the Life Sciences Institute, reflecting collaboration with CDU colleagues Richard Baker, MD, Erin Moran, Paul Robinson, PhD and Senait Teklehaimanot, MPH, will deliver a variety of presentations at the AMIA Annual Symposium this year:
