Dr Robert A Jenders Named Standing Member of AHRQ Study Section

Robert A Jenders, MD, MS, FACP, FACMI has been appointed a standing member of the Healthcare Information Technology Research (HITR) study section of the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) by AHRQ director Dr Richard Kronick, effective immediately for a 3-year term.  AHRQ is the lead US Government agency conducting research on health care quality, and the purpose of the HITR study section is to evaluate the scientific and technical merit of requests to AHRQ for grant funding that involve the development, application and evaluation of health information technology to improve the quality and effectiveness of health care.  Dr Jenders, co-director of CDU’s Center for Biomedical Informatics and professor of medicine at CDU and UCLA, brings 20 years of research and operational experience in biomedical informatics to this new appointment, including service as an NIH study section member and as an ad hoc member of AHRQ study sections.
